Students and young adults

As a church in a city with two universities and lots of young people, we want to make sure that we create a space for a student and young adult community within our church!

At The Potteries Vineyard, our student and young adult community is a space for 18 to 30s in our church to connect and hang out, getting to know each other and Jesus on a deeper level.

In the student and young adult community at The Potteries Vineyard there is always room for one more. We’re a community of young people who see the importance of doing what Jesus did and living how Jesus lived, with space for transformational growth & renewal, regardless of our backgrounds. We create space for conversation, challenge and real friendship. We know that we are all called to be part of the Kingdom of God, to carry this Kingdom wherever we go and share the good news of Jesus with people who don’t yet know him.
— Our Vision

Throughout the year, we aim to have a number of socials together, ranging from lunch after church, to prayer & worship nights, walks and Beer & Carols at Christmas time! As we are fairly new as a church, this is a great chance to get involved and help shape what the students and young adults ministry looks like going forward.

Students

If you’re a student at either Keele University or Staffordshire University, we’d love to meet you. At the start of the academic year as new students are arriving, we will be holding student lunches and getting involved with the Church Search through both Christian Unions to give students a good opportunity to try out our church and see if it’s a good fit.

Whether you’ve previously been part of the Vineyard Churches movement or if you’ve never heard of it, you’d be welcome to come along one Sunday and get involved and if it’s not the church for you, we bless you to go and be part of another one of the great churches in Stoke-on-Trent.

Travel information

Our usual church services take place on the second, third, fourth (and occasional fifth) Sunday of the month. We meet at Ormiston Sir Stanley Matthews Academy in Blurton, ST3 3JD, which is a local secondary school.

If you don’t have a car, we don’t want this to be a barrier for you joining us. The easiest way to get to us without a car is by bus. Bus services in Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme are operated by First Bus and you can find ticket prices and their journey planner here. If you are struggling to arrange transport, please contact Molly via her email below and we’ll see if there’s another way we can support you.

Christian unions

If you are at Keele University and would like to join the Christian Union, you can find out more on their website here.

For Staffordshire University Christian Union, there’s more information here.

Molly leads the student and young adult ministry at our church and you can get in touch with her by emailing molly@thepotteriesvineyard.church or by filling in our ‘Get in touch’ form.

We’ll be praying for you and your time at university, and look forward to hopefully meeting you soon!
